Contemporary Impact.

 
Leonardo da Vinci was a supreme example of a Renaissance genius who possessed one of the greatest minds of all times.

Da Vinci changed the way people painted and made sculptures. Da Vinci was famous for the way he used light in his portraits. It seemed as if you could see into the soul of the paintings.

His paintings such as The Last Supper, The Mona Lisa, and The Baptisim of Christ were the biggest of there time.

As an engineer, Leonardo's ideas were years ahead of his time. He thought up a helicopter, a tank, concentrated solar power, a calculator, the double hull and outlined a theory of plate tectonics. Only a few of his designs were constructed or were even possible during his lifetime, but some of his smaller inventions, like the bobbin winder and a machine for testing the tensile strength of wire, entered the world of manufacturing unheralded.

Biography

Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci 


An Italian polymath, having been a scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, painter, sculptor, architect, botanist, musician and writer, Born from Piero da Vinci, and a peasant woman named Caterina. In the region of Florence, Leonardo was educated in the studio of the renowned Florentine painter, Verrocchio. Much of his earlier working life was spent in the service of Ludovico il Moro in Milan. In his later life he worked in Rome, Bologna and Venice, spending his final years in France at the home given to him by King Francois I.


Leonardo has often been described as the first "Renaissance man",  He is considered to be one of the greatest painters of all time and one the most talented people ever to have lived.

Legacy

Leonardo Davinci has left a very important mark on history, his universaly considerd "the" renaissance man and a genious years ahead of his time.
By the 19th century, the scope of Leonardo's notebooks were well known, as well as his paintings. Hippolyte Taine wrote in 1866: "There may not be in the world an example of another genius so universal, so incapable of fulfilment, so full of yearning for the infinite, so naturally refined, so far ahead of his own century and the following centuries."
